 Helen Day Art Center and Craftproducers are combining forces to create a premier Stowe Summer Event. For over 16 years, Helen Day Art Center hosted a successful culinary and art event, For Arts Sake, A Taste of Stowe. Craftproducers produced The Stowe Celebrates Summer Art and Craft Festival for three years. In 2008 the two events are combining to create a must see event in Stowe.

Call to Artists:
On behalf of Helen Day Art Center, I am pleased to invite you to participate in THE TASTE OF STOWE ARTS FESTIVAL at Topnotch field in Stowe, VT, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 25, 26 and 27, 2008.
Last year was an incredible success with over 150 artists and artisans and over 4500 visitors! This year we will build on the partnership that was created with Craftproducers and continue the tradition at Topnotch Field. Once again, we will be in a beautiful tent with a select space for Helen Day Artists. With an early start and a great year under our belt, we anticipate an increase in Helen Day Artists as well as the Taste of Stowe growing tremendously.
Other exciting elements include: live entertainment all weekend, a Helen Day Art Center children’s art booth, overnight on-site security, drive up loading and unloading areas near your booth, a 10’ x 10’ booth space with 400 watts of electricity, and an artist reception on Saturday evening.
As this is a juried show, each artist will be asked to provide 5 images with their application. The images can be sent electronically, or mailed in as slides, hard copy photos or prints, or on a CD. The jury process will be anonymous; in other words, the artist’s identities will not be known to the jurors. Their goal will be to put together a show that reflects diversity of styles, supporting both emerging and established artists. All mediums are welcome, and artists are encouraged to submit images of the kind of work they will show at The Taste of Stowe Arts Festival .
Submissions are due in the office by Friday, May 16th. Notification to artists will be mailed out by Friday, May 30th, and material submitted by the artist will be returned on that day if a self-addressed stamped envelope is provided. Booth fees are due no later than Friday, June 20th – take advantage of our early bird special and return your Artist Form and booth fee by Friday, June 6th.
Even if you have participated in For Arts Sake previously, please look over the terms and conditions for this year’s festival as there are many positive changes taking place. We are looking forward to a spectacular event this summer and hope to see you there!
